What do you need to use Apple Pay?
- You need VISA/Mastercard Debit or Credit payment card of our Bank.
- You need one of the following devices: iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch.
- You need iPhone 6 or a newer iPhone model, or devices such as iPad Pro, iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3 and all newer models, Apple Watch, MacBook Pro.
- You need iOS 8.1 or newer operating system and NFC technology on your device.
- Set up device lock by one of the offered methods (template, fingerprint, PIN code, face scanning, etc.).
How to activate Apple Pay?
- Find Apple Wallet app on your device and launch it.
- Click “+” (add card)
- Choose the type of the card (debit or credit)
- Find Erste Bank among the banks
- Enter the data on the card by scanning it by the device camera or by entering the card number, card expiry date and CVC/CVV which is at the back of the card
- Accept the Terms and Conditions of using the service of digital wallet
- Verify your VISA and MasterCard card by entering the code for the activation of the service, which you will get via SMS or by calling our Contact Centre
- If you want to add more cards to your wallet, it is necessary to repeat the procedure for each of them.
How can I use Apple Pay in retail places?
Paying by using Face ID scanning
Click the side button twice, look at the display for the identification and then bring your device closer to POS terminal. After the performed transaction, you will see the page with the confirmation on your display and you will know that the payment is successful.
Paying using fingerprint scanning (Touch ID)
Bring your device closer to POS temrinal, while keeping the finger on the fingerprint scanner on your mobile device at the same time. After the performed transaction, you will see the page with the confirmation on your display and you will know that the payment is successful.
Paying by Apple Watch device
Click the side button of your Apple Watch and bring the watch closer to the POS terminal. After the performed transaction, you will see the Page on your display and you will know that the payment is successful.

You can deactivate the card at any time. You need to select the card you want to deactivate in the Wallet application, and then click on the "Remove this card" option.
In the Wallet application, all transactions made by the device through which you access your payment history through the Apple Pay service will be displayed. A list of all executed transactions is always available to you on the Internet or Erste Bank's mobile application, as well as in monthly statements.
It is possible to add a card to the Wallet application on several or all Apple devices you own (if they meet the technical requirements for using the Apple Pay service). You need to add cards to the Wallet app on each device individually.
The number of added cards depends on the device to which they are added. From 8 to 12 cards can be added to the Wallet application. Apple 8, Apple Watch Series 2 and all newer device models support adding up to 12 cards. On slightly older device models, you can add up to 8 cards. If you are adding more cards, you need to select in the device settings which card will be the primary one for use within the Apple Pay service, in the path: Settings/ Wallet & Apple Pay/ Standard card.
If you are a user of Erste Bank's payment card, you do not need to sign a new contract to use this service, and you do not even need to come to the branch. Simply activate your card using the Wallet app on your Apple device following the instructions.
Internet is only required when adding a card to the Apple Wallet app.
If you lose a device on which you have the Apple Pay application with registered payment cards, you need to contact the Bank's Service Centre on 0800 201 201 so that the bank blocks the tokens on that device. The blocking of the token on the device by the Bank's Service Centre does not affect the operation of digitized cards on other devices, as well as the operation of the physical card itself.
If, in addition to the device to which the payment card was added, you also lose a physical Erste Bank card, you can temporarily block the card through the netBanking application, in the path Cards/Details/Settings/Restrict the use of the card, or by calling the Bank's Customer Centre on 0800 201 201 which will disable its use for both physical and digitized cards in the Wallet application.
